By accessing or using The Vartaa (located at thevartaa.com, including its subdomains, feed aggregators, discussion forums, and API endpoints), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.
2. Fair-Use News Aggregation Policy
The Vartaa operates as an automated news aggregator and civic discussion platform. Under the Fair Use doctrine (17 U.S.C. § 107 and equivalent international fair dealing provisions):
- No Full-Text Hosting: We do not host, duplicate, or reproduce full-text articles under any circumstances.
- Excerpts & Attribution: We index strictly public headlines and brief contextual summaries (under 240 characters) solely for identification and contextual commentary.
- Direct Outbound Links: Every indexed story prominently features publisher attribution and a direct outbound link directing readers to the canonical source page.
- Publisher Exclusion / DMCA: Any publisher wishing to update attribution or exclude their RSS feeds may notify us at copyright@thevartaa.com for immediate blocklisting.
3. Community Discussion Guidelines
The discussion layer is designed to foster civil, high-signal analysis of current events. In order to submit comments or vote on commentary, users must authenticate via email magic link or OAuth. Anonymous commenting is disabled to curb automated spam networks. By participating, you agree not to post:
- Unsolicited commercial advertisements, cryptocurrency promotions, affiliate marketing, or automated bot output.
- Targeted harassment, personal attacks, hate speech, defamation, threats of violence, or doxxing.
- Deliberate disinformation, impersonation of journalists or public figures, or deceptive hyperlinks.
- Obscene, illegal, or sexually explicit material.
Violations result in immediate comment removal, temporary cooldowns, or permanent account revocation.
4. User Accounts & Authentication
When registering an account via Supabase Auth, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your session and all activities occurring under your handle. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
The Vartaa brand, trademarks, logo design, user interface code, and proprietary clustering algorithms are protected under international copyright and trademark laws. All third-party article headlines, source names, and logos belong to their respective publisher owners and are cited under fair use.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind. The Vartaa does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of external news reporting indexed through third-party RSS feeds. In no event shall The Vartaa be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from reliance on information presented on the site.
7. Modifications & Governing Law
